Noah Winns-Cromer • 1 year ago

And yet you hear Naruto from both Bachiko phases because they both share the same voice actress. XD

Whoever • 1 year ago

Certain Insert • 1 year ago

random fact: anyone who watched Naruto would recognize this season setting as one of Naruto's arcs, I think I forgot but its one of the exam arcs in early Naruto

Yo mama • 1 year ago

Noah Winns-Cromer • 1 year ago

well i wouldnt call any of the popular shows like naruto good but there is a reason for that popularity. And in these times where almost all anime are sh1t, going back to the basics is not that bad of an ideea. I wish i could erase my memory and watch allot of the old shows for the first time

Room 34 of the Internet. • 1 year ago

True. Alot of animes back then were only a little above mid IMO. If you take all the standards and compare to the best in each category e.g compare Naruto animation to Demon slayer etc you'll find them lacking. But they had insane world building and shaped the entire community.
That's why I like to call em the 'Nostalgia Powered Animes.'

Yo mama • 1 year ago

ur missing out man. it's amazing. in fact amazing doesn't do it justice. anyway u should watch it sometime

RedEye • 1 year ago

Chad. Trust me you don't want to get involved with the fandom.

Noah Winns-Cromer • 1 year ago

So the other week I was telling people in a Discord server to check out Iruma-kun, and I had one person tell me no because he's not gonna watch "some guy isekai'ing into demon high school".
Then a 2nd person said Iruma-kun's just a "s***** modern Rosario Vampire without the fanservice".

Like I get Iruma-kun's not gonna be for everyone, but...really?

Nan Demo K(Nai)ves • 1 year ago

That's unfortunate for them, I even forget Iruma was isekaied, the show is really unique in the isekai genre.

frentzy • 1 year ago

I mean it's "kinda" isekai but at the same time not? He is in hell, he could go back to human realm if his grandpa would give him a ride. So technically is not "really" an isekai. If you call a human in any but not human realm isekai then you should call Bleach isekai as well, Yu Yu hakusho is an isekai. What define 'isekai' for others

Archie Andrew's 1000 • 1 year ago

It is a isekai since he is in the underworld which is a another world just like Dimanchi is a reverse isekai with the gods came to the mortal world.

Qween Qingzanor • 1 year ago

Isekai just means another world so yes Bleach, Digimon, Mortal Kombat, etc are isekai.

Shadow • 1 year ago

Though specifically people are looking for 'transported to another world' trope. So simply being in another world wouldn't be what people expect isekai to be.

They specifically have to be stuck in another world. Like Kage no Jiryokusha and SAO 1st season, after the first part, it no longer is an isekai. You specifically has to be reborn or stuck in another world.

It's complicated

Qween Qingzanor • 1 year ago

You're just referring to the different types of isekai — reincarnation & teleportation just happen to be the most popular types.
SAO is a pseudo isekai since charas are in a virtual games.
Isekai goes well beyond being stuck in another world too.
Ura Sekai Picnic has charas being both stuck in another world, & going back & forth freely.

There's also further confusion when people falsely equate isekai with fantasy due to so many isekais being in fantasy genre, despite the fact that any genre setting can have isekai.

I'd say a genuine ambiguity about isekai is that moving between worlds via magic &/or sci-fi (via reincarnation &/or teleportation) counts but moving between the same aforementioned worlds via space travel would negate it being isekai.

Archie Andrew's 1000 • 1 year ago

Another example is "Girls Bravo!" which is also the full to pseudo since it's both and the reverse concept.

Qween Qingzanor • 1 year ago

I'd say full isekai.
Even reverse isekai is still full isekai — Copcraft, Maidragon, etc.
I'd say virtual worlds are pseudo — SAO, BoFuri, Dendro.
Show By Rock & Log Horizon are a bit vague on if they're actually virtual so far despite being game worlds.
Re:Creators & ID Invaded are in a grey area between pseudo & full probably.

Mega-Chad-Type-Hero • 1 year ago

Pseudo-Isekai ?

KuroroSama42 • 1 year ago

It's definitely an isekai. Most isekai just choose to make the MC's initial goal to return to his world, since that's what makes sense. And since that's his goal, returning can't be made simple.

they don't deserve our iruma-kun 😤😤

Noah Winns-Cromer • 1 year ago

No they don't.

norigami • 1 year ago

Their loss :)

Archie Andrew's 1000 • 1 year ago

Yes

Qween Qingzanor • 1 year ago

Iruma-kun is shounen but it's intensity reminds me of Pokémon — kodomo-muke with flashes of shounen.

Yo mama • 1 year ago

that is crazy. u need to convince them otherwise cus they r missing out

Noah Winns-Cromer • 1 year ago

I did try to convince them, and then they made these hot takes.

They're hopeless. XD

Vii X • 1 year ago

Wanna know something funny? One of those two demon boys are so ugly, looking under his mop face will drive you insane. The other is beautiful. And often paired into teams. Talk about a beauty and a beast. XD Yet there personalities don't match their face much...

Just a passing by bear • 1 year ago

They are missing the fun

Autumn • 1 year ago

it bothers me when it's obvious a show has nothing going for it other than fanservice. Might just be because I'm a girl but it bothers me how many shows rely on it. Are they that scared a show won't be popular without it?

Necrotenki Wongwat • 1 year ago

I don't know but I for one like the ecchi fanservice
Fanservice can be anything really like twilligt movie serie it's full of shit but still popular
